[edit] Shots
The Lateral Shot
Done by going to a side of the box, and shooting on the top-down corner when you are near the goal-keeper right at the moment he uses his backpedal.
The Angle Shot
Same kind of goal : Go from a side of the box to another one, targetting the side you are going to and then wait for keeper to leave you a bit of space in the box and then click. (Eg : go from right side to left side, start aiming at left side, then wait for keeper to leave you 50cm of unsecured zone of the box then release the mouse).
The Long Shot
Just aim a top corner of the box. It is recommended that you have a lot of stamina in your jaudge and that you don't shoot at more than 15 meters, otherwise ball will go over the target/under the target and will be taken by the keeper.
[edit] Crosses
Space crosses
A space cross is performed by pressing the space button. It is the easiest cross to perform, but also the easiest to intercept.
Normal LMB crosses
These crosses are performed with left mouse button (LMB). Unlike space crosses, the player doesn't select a target, but rather a direction and then performs a kick by charging the LMB bar. LMB crosses are harder to master, but they are also considered to be more effective.
Ground LMB tap crosses
A bit of a mix of cross and pass, this is one of the most common plays in the game. To perform it you need to rush gown the goalmouth with the ball at your feet, rotate camera to your right or to your left and click low lmb down the ground. In interceptions section there's description how to intercept those crosses.
Click crosses
Click crosses are the same, as LMB crosses, but performed with just one click instead of holding mouse for some time.
[edit] Passes
LMB passes
LMB pass is performed by choosing direction and power of the kick. LMB passes don't count towards "Passes" stats in match stats, but they do count as assists.
1-2 space wing launch
A move that allows the winger to confuse his marker and get free. Winger makes a space pass back to his defender and immediately runs up the pitch. Defender makes a one-touch space pass back to winger. Is usually used in 7 and 11 a-side matches.
[edit] Dribbling techniques
Knock the ball past opponent
Performed by clicking lmb down the ground when approaching defender. It results in a kick which sends the ball rolling down the ground in the direction you are running. Those knocks are hard to intercept (provided the defender doesn't stand directly in front of you) and while defender is turning behind, you may run past him.
Knock behind and turn
This trick is performed by knocking the ball behind your back turning 180 degree and picking up the ball. Is useful when you are facing your own goal and opponents' forward is pressing you. To do it, turn the camera 180 degree, click lmb, then turn around and get the ball.
Nelgado's Feinting (good keyboard & mouse driving needed)
To start entering in a feinting state, start doing some very small moves with your mouse, but while clicking on nothing else, exept Z. your character will start performing some dribblings with his 2 feets, which will result, if you keep doing that in each side, in some feints. This can't be used in match when the opponent is in front of you as the feints are too small, but if he's coming to you from the left, simply do some feints until he comes then at the right moment, click on Q.
[edit] Ball stealing techniques
Click tackle
Click tackle is performed by clicking LMB. It results in either a successful steal of the ball or bouncing off the ball carrier.
Tab tackle
A tab tackle is performed by holding tab key instead of running controls to bring you to the ball carrier. Once you have reached the ball carrier with tab key, you can perform click tackle.
Crossing pathes
Crossing pathes means that a defender doesn't make any tackles at all, but rather runs for the ball and takes it away by simply crossing his running path with the path of the ball carrier. This technique is particularly effective when opponent has high ball control stats that makes tackling nearly impossible. It commonly used by attackers who are pressing defenders who hold onto the ball for too long.
Pushing
Pushing is basically running into the ball carrier. It does not result in a foul. Could be performed using tab or just by running controls.
Turnaround tackle
A turnaround tackle is the preloaded tab tackle that is used when you and the ball carrier are running in the same direction and ball carrier is behind your back. Hold down tackle button (default is lmb but see the note further) then hold tab and your char will perform a 180 turn with a tackle attempt. May be harder to perform in default key mappings as lmb is used for both kick and tackle. Easily performed in 4 Buttons mode. Sometimes this is used without pressing lmb just to block the onrushing forward with tab.
[edit] Slides
Blocking passes with slides
You will need a good timing to perform to block a pass with a slide. While the ball is coming between two people, get in Defence mode (if you don't use 4 button mode) and press Slide Tackle when the ball is coming, at the right moment. With luck, you may even knock the ball to your teammate.
Slide into goalie
You can not bring the goalie down by the slide, so it is legit to slide into him in hope to block his clearance or to knock a pass to goalie past him into the net.
[edit] Interceptions
Defending ground cross
To defend ground cross, you need to turn on a preload aimed to clear the ball. You need to draw an imaginary pass line from the ball carrier to an opponent in the box. You need to position yourself a bit closer to the goalmouth than this line. Perfrectly, you should face opponent's goal, but sometimes it's hard to do as you need watch the ball carrier's run and just rotating camera for it may complicate matters when you'll need to make critical step. So you may be facing the ball carrier rather than opponent's goal. Anyway, as soon, as you'd see ball carrier releasing a ground cross, you need to make a step to the pass line and immediately after release the preload.
Defending a lob behind you
To do it, turn on a preload upfield, turn back and start running backwards when the opponent is just about to do a pass.
The header trap
Done by setting a high left mouse button preload at as low power as possible, the ball will drop to the feet of the player making the interception, allowing them to set a second left mouse button or pass preload. Done quick enough, it can result in two headers in the air, but generally results in the second preload being taken as a volley on the first bounce. Useful for setting up a counter attack since more power can be applied with the feet than the head, but risks an opponent running onto the ball before the second touch can be made.
[edit] Defending corners
Winning headers
Defensive headers are generally hard to win. You need to stand in front of you opponent, slightly closer to the corner taker. Remember, that the earlier you have turned on the preload, the higher is chance to get the ball. You Ctrl for better positioning.
Hugging post
The defender stands by the post, usually far post, with preload headed upfield. When the attacker performs a header, the defender releases preload and clears the ball. Such an interception also tends to fail more often than succeed.
