You will not be able to proceed into the game if you do not enter a Forename, Surname, and Nickname for your character. User Interface
At the bottom of your screen you will see a menu bar which lists important information about your character as well as giving you access to some of your essential tools.
Character Information
This panel to the left lists your character's full name, their Fame level and their character level. The blue bag icon will take you to your Kitbag which can be used to claim items from any coupons you may have redeemed.
Menu Bar
Here in the middle of the bar you will see a series of eight icons, all of which serve a purpose. Let's briefly introduce the purpose of these buttons.
From left to right:
Inventory: This provides you with a list of all the items you are currently carrying. You can change your clothes within this panel.
Character Sheet: This button brings up your Character Sheet, listing in-depth information about your money, experience, statistics, skills, positional play, and fame. You will also be able to use this screen to create your Match Setup. This will determine what boots and skills you take into a match with you.
League: For information on league standings of all 4 divisions and even your PMC club, click the League button.
iSpot: This allows you to look up the performance statistics of any other player and even view replays of matches. This can be very useful for scouting players for your player-managed club.
Map: Clicking this icon displays the Map of the town you're currently in, in order to help you get around. Clicking on the map zooms out so you are able to see the entire Football Superstars world. Your character is represented by a yellow arrow on the map.
Bureau de Change: The Exchange can be used to convert any FS Bonds you have purchased to FS Dollars.
PMC: This button will open all the PMC functions available to you if you are a member or owner of a PMC.
PDA: Your PDA allows you access to a load more features including your friends list, ignore list, and any messages you may have received. From time to time you will receive FS Mail messages detailing your progress through the game. Messages can include information about your wage and transfers between clubs. If you have unread messages then this icon will flash.
Match Finder
Match Request: The Match Request button is probably the most important button on the PDA. This is how you find a Club game of your choice. Click on the ball icon to open up your match finder. Full details of getting into a match can be found below.
Chat Window
This is the chat box you will use to communicate with other players in the world. You can turn the various chat channels on and off by clicking the symbols to the top of the chat box.
Type your message into the text box at the bottom and then press "Enter" to send. Messages will appear in the larger window. To switch between the different chat types click on the tabs at the bottom of the window.
Match Request
It's now time for your first match! This section will take you through the process of finding and joining matches.
Click the Match Request button in your menu bar to open the Match Finder.
When you first create your character you will only have access to a limited number of match types. You can either play 5-a-side Amateur matches or you can play 3-a-side AI games, the same as you did during the tutorial. However, AI games will not award you any experience, money or fame. If you want to advance then you will need to play Amateur matches.
To join an Amateur match, click on the Join button and you will be added to one of the teams. Anyone between the levels of 1 and 9 can join this game. Once you have entered a queue you can close the match finder window. You can keep track of how many people have joined the match by checking the panel next to your Match Request icon. Once a total of eight players have joined then the match will start.
Once you have reached level 10 you will have access to Division 4, which means you can play for your FS Club. For more information on this check out the full Match Finder guide.
Earning FS Dollars
The Football Superstars world has many things for players to buy and trade, ranging from drinks in a bar to the latest real world brand football boots that will improve your game on the pitch.
In order to purchase items, you must first have some of the Football Superstars currency, known as "Football Superstars Dollars" or FSDs for short. FSDs are earned from playing games for your FS Club team or for playing Amateur matches.
The amount you earn per game depends on a number of factors, how well you play, how well you keep your position on the pitch, your fame level and of course the result of the match - but note that even losing a game can reap big rewards if you have played your part for the team.
You will also be rewarded for loyalty to your FS Club, and eligible for a bonus at the end of the season if you have played a certain number of games for that team. The more you have contributed and the better the team does at the end of the season, the better the pay.
If you complete all of the tutorial stages then you will leave the Puma Academy with 1500 FSD. You will earn more, the more matches you play, but if you find yourself short of these and need a quick cash fix, then help is at hand in the form of FSBs, or Football Superstars Bonds. These can be purchased from the Football Superstars website, added to your game account and exchanged for FSDs within the in-game PDA (Exchange).
The current exchange rate is 1000 FSDs for every 1 FSB.
Earning Experience
For every Amateur of FS Club game you play, you will earn Experience points. When you earn enough experience you will gain a level. For every level you gain you unlock six gym training points. These can be used at the gym to improve your character's gym trained abilities in whichever way you choose. To go up to the next division you will need to reach certain benchmarks. Division 4: Level 10. Division 3: Level 25 Division 2: Level 50 Division 1: Level 75
Earning Fame
Fame is the one of the systems in the game which charts your advancement as a player. Your Fame level goes towards determining the amount of money received at the end of an FS Club match. The higher a player's fame level, the more FSD they will receive.
There are two ways to earn fame points: 1 - Play FS Club Matches 2 - Buy drinks in bars. You can cash in your fame points by speaking with Journalists around the world. By speaking with journalists you will boost your fame level and unlock fame rewards which can be rare and special items.
